It's now possible to install Android on iPhones, really

The "war" between Android and iOS has been going on for many years now but someone has decided to try to bring these two very different platforms closer together: we are referring to Project Sandcastle.

This is a solution designed by some developers to allow owners of a series of selected iOS devices (currently only iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and seventh generation iPod Touch) to install Android 10 on them.

Unfortunately at the moment the Project Sandcastle does not guarantee the functioning of some fundamental basic features, such as the camera, audio, cellular connectivity and Bluetooth, thus preventing the use of this solution on a device to be used in life everyday.

Project Sandcastle brings Android 10 to iPhone

Android can now be installed on iPhones, really

However, it must be recognized that Project Sandcastle has interesting potential, admitted and not granted that the developers continue to work on its improvement: just think of the possibility of allowing those who have an iPhone to try, albeit with all the limitations of the case, the competitor's platform without the need to purchase an Android smartphone first.

We specify that in order to try Android on a iPhone, it will be necessary to jailbreak the iPhone as well as run specific scripts that can be downloaded from the project website, for macOS or Linux. However, the installation does not write files to the internal memory of the iPhone and this is due to the lack of complete support (for now in read-only) to Apple's APFS file system.
