Samsung's next-generation flagship, the Galaxy S22, is expected to launch in the first quarter of next year. While its release is still several months away, a new leak has revealed some information regarding the company's premium flagship model for 2022.

Samsung Galaxy S22: will the camera be a downgrade?

According to a tweet from well-known tipster @FrontTron, the South Korean tech giant's Galaxy S22 will include a triple-camera setup on the back. Its main sensor will be a 50 megapixel snapper, paired with a 12 megapixel ultra wide angle lens and a 12 megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. These camera specs may also be present in the Plus model, although we currently have no way of knowing for sure.

Interestingly, this implies that Samsung is not aiming to release its new flagship with a 100+ megapixel camera, as has been the case with phones for the past couple of years.
