In an interview last April, the CEO of Iliad, Benedetto Levi, confirmed that the possibility of changing the telephone plan will arrive shortly and that this operation is currently impossible due to some limitations due to the company's IT systems. That said, there is still no official date for the availability of this feature so requested by users.

For existing Iliad customers who want to activate a higher offer, there are therefore two ways. The first is to request withdrawal from the current offer and then subscribe to the relevant rate. However, it is not possible to keep your phone number in this way. The operator allows you to withdraw from the plan free of charge and at any time with 30 days' notice directly from the Personal Area, by clicking on the Contract management item in the My offer section. The best option therefore remains to switch to another mobile phone operator and return to Iliad. To do this, just request the portability of the telephone number from the new manager, who will take care of all the administrative part. Once this is done, you can carry out the portability of the number to Iliad again during the registration phase for the purchase of the rate you prefer.

For the delivery of the SIM, which the low cost operator offers free of charge, you can choose between the Italian Post Office and the Bartolini courier. In the first case, the SIM will arrive directly in the mailbox in 2-5 working days and to complete the activation it is necessary to carry out a video identification with an operator. The procedure takes an average of 3 minutes and is required to confirm the user's identity.

Those who choose delivery by courier must be personally present at the appointment with the employee (proxies are not allowed), to whom they must present the original and a copy of the identity document used during the online purchase.

Alternatively, it is possible to purchase an Iliad SIM in self-service mode using one of the 1,300 Simboxes set up in the points of sale authorized by the operator. The phone card is delivered after carrying out the video identification. Activation, on the other hand, takes place within a few hours.

The Simboxes, which do not provide for the exchange of money and documents or assistance from the store staff, are present in the 18 Iliad Stores in the historic centers of the main cities and in the approximately 450 corners in large-scale distribution and shopping centers.
