We Don't always take pride in what we do with our smartphones. For example, sometimes we install an application and we Don't care too much about letting people know that we're using it. For this reason, we may want to hide them from the sight of anyone (and for whatever reason) who comes into possession of our mobile phone. On Android it's a simple operation, which takes away a few seconds.

Apple, on the other hand, does not allow you to hide apps on iPhones and iPads. The choice of Cupertino's house is dictated by security reasons, but there are "exit routes" that allow to circumvent this ban. Thanks to some tricks, in fact, you can hide an app from the screen of the pomephone or from the tablet of the apple bitten without being forced to uninstall it.

The possible solutions are multiple: it starts from hiding it from the "eyes" of Siri to disabling push notifications, passing through the possibility of "burying" the icon of an app inside a folder away from prying eyes. I mean, the only limit is fantasy, or almost.

Exclude the app from search suggestions and Siri

The first "spy" to shut up when you want to hide an iPhone app is Siri. The digital assistant of Cupertino's house, in fact, could "betray" you in many ways: it could show the app among the ones we use most, or make it appear while searching for some files within the memory of the device. For this reason, you need to act on the settings of the iPhone voice assistant to prevent unwanted apps from appearing between your sources and your search results.

To do so, access the "settings" of the phone, then on "Siri" and "search". Choose the app you want to "hide" from the long list of apps installed on your device. Now you can disable all the options illustrated by this screen to focus on another: "show app". By disabling "show app" you can exclude the app from all search results and suggestions screens. In doing so the app is hidden and to find it in the future you need to look for its icon in the home screen or inside the folders and start it from there.

Hide an app in a folder

On IOS you can create folders by pressing the icon of an application already installed on your phone. Thus appears a folder that can be named as best you think. The folder can then be deleted later without deleting the app icon. To prevent the app hidden in the folder from being found it is enough to name folders with "boring" names that thus exclude a priori the possibility of being found.

Disable app notifications

App notifications are always displayed even if the app has been hidden. To prevent notifications from being "delivered", simply access your phone's "settings", select "Notifications" and search for the app in question in the displayed list. Here you can disable the "allow Notifications" option to prevent the application from showing any notifications on your phone. Notifications can also be hidden from the lock screen, as well as disable warning banners. If you leave the "Notifications Center" active, notifications will only be displayed when the app is used.

Hide the download history of the app store

Even if you delete an app from the iPhone or iPad, the Apple app store will always keep in mind that a particular app has been downloaded. Downloaded apps are displayed on the "buy" tab, even if the app has been downloaded for free. Fortunately Apple allows you to hide apps in your shopping history.

To view the list of apps you have purchased, you need to start the app store, then press on the "today" tab. Just click on the user icon in the upper right corner and select "purchased". By doing so you can view the list of free and paid apps downloaded earlier. To hide an app download just scroll to the left and click "hide" and the game is done.

Fictitious apps to hide files and notes

Files and notes can be hidden in "fictitious" apps, specially designed to enable the user to "mimic" documents or files that he doesn't want to show to other people who might use the device. On the app store you can find fake calculators or fake photo apps, which instead allow you to safely store files or apps that we Don't want to show to other people. On the Apple store you can find dozens of apps of this kind: from Calculator # to private Calculator, through Turbo vault or secret folder vault, which gives you the ability to protect files and icons inside with unlocking via face ID and touch ID.

Hide photos and videos in the photos app

In the photos app you can hide photos and videos by creating an album hidden from most and present in the "album" tab in the "Photo" app. Unfortunately, this album is not protected and can be easily detected. The main function of this option is to delete "particular" photos from the time sequence of the photos displayed in the film.

Hide main system apps using screen time

Screen time is an Apple tool dedicated to managing the time spent on the device. Screen time may hide some built-in system apps, but not third-party apps. To activate it, simply access the "settings", select "screen duration" and click on "content and privacy limitations". Now just click on "allowed apps" by disabling all major system apps that you are planning to hide.
