Apple has finally released the new update of its mobile operating system dedicated to iPhones. The stable version of iOS 15 is downloadable by all users without the need for a developer profile or to sign up for the public beta program, however there are some iPhone models that have been "dropped" as they have reached end of support.

Which iPhones can iOS 15 be installed on? Which Apple smartphones will never update instead?

Apple is the company that, among all, is able to guarantee the greatest longevity to its devices, thanks to a software support that lasts over the years and also involves older iPhone models.

However, nothing lasts forever. Despite Apple's efforts to support even older products, there comes a time in the life cycle of an iPhone when the Californian company is no longer able to guarantee proper functioning or the desired responsiveness on older devices.

This is usually the point of no return, the time when Apple stops releasing new versions of iOS. It should be emphasized that, in the event of serious security flaws, the brand continues to present users with small corrective patches of the old operating system, an effort that should not be taken for granted.
